Social Responsibility
We endeavor to ensure a safe and healthy work environment with equal terms and opportunities for all employees. Seco should act and be perceived in a consistent manner, no matter where in the world we operate. Meanwhile, with global operations that span both cultural and geographical boundaries, it is important to be responsive to local conditions. Developing and nurturing good relations with the local communities in which we live and work are crucial for Seco’s long-term success.
Everyone at Seco should be aware of hazards and potential risks in order to do their jobs with safety in mind. We continuously improve our safety culture and all our occupational health and safety activities are based on Seco’s overall EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) policy which sets clear requirements for the Group.
We see diversity and inclusion as a prerequisite for succeeding in the continuous globalization of the market place as they provide us with a strong competitive advantage. Having the right mix of people will enrich our relationships with our customers and support our development. We want to achieve a culture where employees are able to develop to their full potential and add value to Seco’s growth.
Our success as a high-performing organization is due to the exceptional people we have on our teams. We are focusing on and securing performance management throughout the Group. One of our goals is to build development plans aligned with individual and team targets.
Some of our key focus areas include talent management, succession planning, competence management and leadership skills development. We are also continuing our efforts to foster an inclusive culture for all employees, enabling them to participate in high-performing teams.
To be selected as an employer of choice we have been working on several initiatives, one of which is the Global Trainee Program. In this initiative, our objective is to integrate participants from different countries into the Sandvik workforce through an extensive program.
Fundamental to employee development is on-the-job training and coaching by colleagues. Our next generation management program brings together emerging and future leaders from around the world who are seeking to widen their experience and network as they learn.
Our group-wide Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct provide guidance in identifying, preventing and reducing the risk of human rights violations. We work continuously to ensure compliance with national legislation and internationally agreed human rights standards and regulations. Forced or slave labor and child labor are strictly forbidden. We also support children’s rights and the right to education through our community involvement programs in, for example, India and China.
We believe in a diverse workforce without any form of discrimination based on gender identity, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, marital status or any other characteristics protected by law, nor do we accept any form of harassment or bullying.
All employees have the right, if they choose, to join a union and be covered by a collective agreement and to work in a safe and healthy workplace.
