Smoother drilling with optimized chip evacuation

The SD5702 is all about making your drilling process safer and more reliable. Thanks to its straight chip flutes and unique wave pattern, chips are cleared out quickly, so you don’t have to worry about chip jamming or tool breakage.
The front flute is laser-hardened, and the drill body is polished and uncoated, which means it lasts longer and works well in demanding operations such as drilling through stainless and hardened steel, titanium or Inconel.
Your Challenge: Chips getting stuck in stationary applications can slow you down, ruin the surface finish and even break your tool, especially when drilling steel, titanium, or other difficult to machine materials.
Our Solution: The SD5702’s straight flute design and wave pattern keep chips moving and the process stable, so you can focus on getting the job done.
Save money with a versatile tool
The SD5702 combines a robust drill body with application-specific insert grades and geometries. Its versatility allows for drilling, boring, and chamfering with a single tool.
Plus, it uses the same inserts and settings as previous models, making it simple to switch over.
Your Challenge: Switching tools for different jobs or hole sizes can get expensive and clutter your workspace.
Our Solution: The SD5702’s short, stable body and ability to adjust to a wide range of hole diameters using the same drill body, means you can cut down on costs and tool changes.
Superior hole quality and application security

If you want straight holes that are the right size every time, the SD5702 delivers.
The chip flute design keeps chips from messing up your work and coolant is delivered directly where it’s needed.
Plus, quickly scan the Data Matrix code for quick information and set-up tips to make sure everything is in place.
Your Challenge: Keeping a consistent hole quality and a secure process can be difficult when drilling challenging materials which can lead to extra work or wasted parts.
Our Solution: With its optimized flute geometry, laser hardening, and advanced chip control, you’ll get excellent hole quality and a process you can trust.
Easy integration and customization

The SD5702 polished, uncoated drill body eliminates nickel-based surface coatings, minimizing environmental impact.
It’s available in both metric and imperial sizes, with alternative back-end options and custom diameters available through the Seco quotation software, My Design, so it fits right into your current set-up.
Your Challenge: Environmental regulations and the need for flexible, future-proof tooling can complicate procurement and compliance.
Our Solution: The SD5702’s eco-friendly design and compatibility with existing inserts and settings make it a sustainable, future-ready choice for all your drilling requirements.
